Deauville-Honfleur
32km round trip
Beautiful!
This is a great ride to lovely city!
| My favorite painter, Eugène Boudin (1824-1898), was born in this
quaint fishing
town. Boudin is the father of impressionist painting and his seascapes
depict the shores all along the Côte Fleurie. |
| Honfleur is a lovely place to visit any time of year.

| The best way to Honfleur is along the
coastal road.
After the deathly difficult uphill ride along the Corniche of Trouville the
road varies pleasantly in up-hills and down-hills, none too excruciating nor
endless. |
| The way to go:
|
Cross the bridge (Pont des
Belges) over the Digue into Trouville. Do
not follow the signs to Honfleur you first come across! Instead
ride along the main road along the quay until you almost get to the
Casino. Just at the Monoprix supermarket there is a sign
"Honfleur par la Corniche". This is the most beautiful
way to go. |
|
Keep looking to your left at the sea. The
view is
amazing. |
|
Once on top you will find yourself on the D513.
This will take you straight all the way to Honfleur. Do not turn
off onto any other road. Trust me. Ignore the sign about
half way there that says "Honfleur, Cotes de Graces". |
|
Once there, enjoy the city before turning around and
following the same route back to Deauville. |
|
|
You can extend this great ride by going a bit further
and crossing the Pont de Normandy.

of Honfleur in the direction of this impressive feat of engineering.
