In the summer my favorite past-time is riding to Coney Island for a swim and riding the Cyclone with my kids.

The Shore Parkway bike route is superb.  It's fun passing under the Verezzano bridge.  Take it all the way to the end and see the Manhattan skyline. 

Another great ride is along the Marine Parkway towards the Rockaways, where my family used to spend every summer until I was a teenager.  Crossing the Gil Hodges bridge affords a spectacular sight.
